  1. Well, I think that taking risks is moving you from your comfort zone. It pushes you out of something you are very familiar with. Is that why it is named a “risk”? Because you don’t know your next circumstances? I think it should be named a chance. What do you think? A chance to do bigger things. A chance to get closer to your goals. A chance to change something incremental in life. I think this suits more. Taking risk is just something referring to taking you out of your situation, to do more. Much more!

  2. Thanks to Don for this beautiful article. When we take risks, we stand a higher chance of winning, even if it fails the lesson has been learned. So move out and take that risk.

  3. If we don’t risk anything we might possibly not get anything done in life. Risks also need to be calculated and we should pour ourselves into the task and ensure we deliver the best.

  4. Juravin Your are absolutely true! We are angels who still sleep the heavy sleep of the flesh. Man must wake up, open his eyes to the truth if he does not want to run the risk of crossing life like an unconscious brute.

  5. If you fail, nothing happens
Imagine that you run a great risk to take a business forward or study what you have always wanted. There are things that are difficult to carry out because doing so supposes a real sacrifice. But does taking a risk mean that everything will go well? Thanks, Mr. Juravin

  6. We need to ask ourselves the following questions: What is the worst thing that will happen if this does not go as planned? If the worst thing happens, can I work around it? How would failure impact my other goals? Am I OK with that impact?
If you are unsure about the answers to these questions then the risk is not worth taking.

  7. Thank you, Don, for opening this type of discussion. There is one important step to take before taking a risk and that is to do research. Research is necessary to find out all the risk factors associated with the path you are about to jump on.

  8. I think that the reason some person play it safe is due to the fact that want perfection in the end result. This should not be the case. We have to choose action over perfection.

  9. It is true when they say that you are defined by the people around you. If you have risk-taking people around you then the chance of taking a risk becomes higher. You are able to gather advice and gain support. Thank you for this article, Don.

  10. Don, I believe that you must believe in your own vision before you are can confidently take a risk. Many of us cannot see the bigger picture which contributes to us taking the safer road than taking the riskier one.

  12. Don, this is very relevant, especially in the business world. I took a risk to start my own business even though I didn’t know what lies ahead. Now, I am a successful businessman.

  15. You really have to take a risk sometimes for you to defeat big challenges in life. When there’s a choice of “play safe or take a risk”, you have to make a great decision because that decision can change everything in one second. You don’t want to have regrets in life by not taking the risk and just by playing it safe.

  20. I have many observations regarding risk analysis but those are about business. For living a happy life it’s critical to take hazard or risks throughout everyday life! without taking risks, you may pass up an extraordinary chance. So you don’t pass up on chances and experiment with new things that may hazard your life.
